The Real Price · new RVs · Oct 28, 2026
New RVs are advertised about 32% below their sticker price
The maker's sticker price (MSRP) is a real number, but almost nobody asks that much. The typical new RV in our data is advertised 32% below it (25,200 new listings, Oct 28, 2026). So we show you something better: the Real Price.
Say we find 75 of the same trailer for sale. Lined up from cheapest to most expensive, the one in the middle costs $44,995. That is the Real Price. A trailer listed at $41,000 is $3,995 below it, and we mark it "Below Real Price." Every number here shows where we found it and the date we saw it.
The Real Price index: new RVs
For half of these listings, the price is between 25% and 38% below the posted MSRP. These are asking prices, not sale prices, from listings we saw in the last 7 days (as of Oct 28, 2026). For each make, model, floorplan and model year we publish the Real Price (the dealer's total with fees if it shows one, otherwise the advertised price), the range where half the prices fall, and how many listings and dealer chains it rests on — 933 combinations so far. * We compare like with like: the dealer's total with fees if it shows one, otherwise the advertised price. Taxes, title and registration are never included, so ask for the out-the-door price (the full amount you would pay). Real Price is the price in the middle of the listings we compared. It is not a sale price. A price drop means the advertised price went down.
How it works
- We read dealers' own websites. We copy the public facts: year, make, model, floorplan, price and stock number. Nothing else.
- We work out the sticker price (MSRP). If at least 5 dealers post an MSRP for the same new RV, we use the middle one. With fewer, we show the range, never a single guess.
- We find the Real Price. For each new floorplan and model year, we line up the listings from cheapest to most expensive and take the one in the middle. We show how many listings and dealer chains it rests on. For each listing we use the dealer's total with fees if it shows one, otherwise the advertised price.
- We add two labels, both good news. Below Real Price: the price is at least 5% under the Real Price. Price drop: the dealer lowered the price in the last 30 days. Everything else is just numbers. Taxes, title and registration are never included, so always ask for the out-the-door price (the full amount you would pay).
Whose side are we on? Yours.
FairHitch is free to use. We earn money from ads, featured dealer listings and quote requests, and anything paid for is labeled. Dealers cannot pay to change a price or a label. The Real Price Report is free. Every number on this site shows where we found it and the date we saw it. How we price is public, and we publish corrections within 2 business days.
